What Is a Rotary Drum Granulator?
The Rotary Drum Granulator is a key piece of equipment in the compound fertilizer production process, and it is especially popular in NPK fertilizer plants. It is designed for wet granulation, using liquid binders (such as water, steam, or acid solutions) to agglomerate powdery materials into uniform spherical granules.
As a leading fertilizer equipment manufacturer, GOFINE Machine offers high-performance rotary granulators that help clients achieve high output, stable granulation, and excellent product quality.
Working Principle of Rotary Drum Granulator
The rotary drum granulation machine works by rotating a slightly inclined cylindrical drum. When the raw materials are fed into the drum:
The drum rotates continuously.
Powdery materials roll along the inner wall.
Liquid binders (steam or water) are sprayed to form adhesive layers.
The particles collide, stick, and grow into granules.
Granules are discharged from the outlet after reaching the desired size.
This wet granulation process provides high granulation efficiency and is especially suitable for large-scale continuous production.
